‘Be Mine!’ Promotion Offers Reduced Adoption Fees for CITY DOGS

Wednesday, February 6, 2019

CLEVELAND – Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the City of Cleveland's Division of Animal Care & Control is offering reduced adoption fees to bring home a CITY DOG.

During the “Be Mine!” adoption promotion from Feb. 8-17, the usual $61 fee will be reduced to just $21. All adoptable dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and come with a Cuyahoga County license. Normal adoption processes and policies will be followed during the reduced fee event.

“We have more than 100 adoptable CITY DOGS are hoping to find true love this Valentine's Day,” said Michelle Harvanek, Shelter Operations Manager. “Whether you’re looking for a cuddly couch potato or a running buddy, we have Adoption Counselors ready to serve as matchmakers to find the best fit for your family.”

The city currently has a new multi-million kennel, scheduled to open in early 2019. Click here to read more about it. The kennel will be open 24 hours per day for staff and will accommodate more than 40 employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers.

Adoptable CITY DOGS can be viewed at www.petango.com/cacc or at the kennel, located at 2690 W. 7th St. Regular open hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday noon to 2 p.m. Walk-in adoptions are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Make an appointment to meet with an Adoption Counselor by emailing citydogs@city.cleveland.oh.us or by calling the adoption hotline at 216-664-3476.

About CITY DOGS Cleveland

CITY DOGS is a program of Cleveland Animal Care and Control. The CITY DOGS mission is to increase adoptions from the City Kennel by changing the image of the pit bull-type dogs who make up the majority of the kennel population, by preparing all adoptable dogs in the kennel for lives in loving homes and by creating as many opportunities as possible for the public to meet and get to know our dogs for the terrific pets they are meant to be.
