CLEVELAND – On July 23, 2018 street improvements are scheduled to begin on the West 19th Place from Smith Court to West 18th Street. The road will be closed on West 19th Place between Smith Court and West 18th Street for the duration of construction activities. Construction is expected to last for 60 days. Driveways will not be accessible during this closure, so residents will be asked to park on West 18th Street.

The West 19th Place Improvement project includes the installation of 650 feet of new concrete pavement in the alleyway from Smith Court to West 18th Street. Other improvements include installation of infiltrating catch basins, storm sewer, ADA-compliant curb ramps, bio-retention and landscaping. The work will take place during daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The project is scheduled for completion in October of 2018.

Should there be any questions, please contact the City of Cleveland Chief Inspector, Traci Hartnett-Mercado at 216-857-5447.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
