| Ken Silliman, Esq. Chief of Staff
Chief of Staff Ken Silliman helped Mayor Frank G. Jackson make a smooth transition into office in January 2006. He is Mayor Jackson’s lead advisor and handles key administrative matters on the Mayor’s behalf. A native of Northeast Ohio, Silliman began his career as an attorney in a private law practice in upstate New York. He moved from there to New Hanover County, N.C., to work in the public sector. He served the county as a Land Use Planner from 1980 to 1982 and as an Assistant County Attorney from 1982 to 1987. Returning to Cleveland in 1988, Silliman worked in the City of Cleveland Department of Law on real estate and development projects, including the Chagrin Highlands master development agreement and annexation agreements. In 1995 he became Executive Assistant to Development for Mayor Michael R. White and served through the end of that administration. In 2002 Silliman formed a private law practice focusing on real estate development and operated the firm through the end of 2005 from his Ohio City home office. Silliman received his bachelor’s degree in Urban and Environmental Studies from Case Western Reserve University in 1974. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977 and followed that up with a Master of Regional Planning degree, also from UNC, in 1979.
