Fire Safety Education
The Division of Fire's Bureau of Public Education works directly with the public, teaching fire prevention and safety. The Bureau's Juvenile Fire Setters Program teaches and provides counsel to Cleveland youth who have incidences of setting fires- no matter how small. Those seeking more information on this program may call 216.664.6386.
Cleveland firefighters provide fire education speakers for schools, day care centers, senior centers, and employers and also appear at career days. In addition, firefighters with fire apparatus, including engines, hook & ladders and the Smoke House make appearances at community and school events. The Smoke House is a mobile version of a home which uses non-toxic smoke and an alarm system to teach children how to escape a home fire.
All Fire Safety Education arrangements are made by the Division of Fire's Bureau of Public Education which can be reached at 216.664.6386. This Bureau is located at 1645 Superior Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44114.
The Division of Fire’s Public Information Officer (PIO) responds to all major fires, emergencies and other high profile incidents to provide information to the media and public.
