Construction Inspection (216.664.2391, weekdays 7am–4pm): monitors construction of ADA ramps, 50/50 sidewalk repairs, road bridges, and subdivisions in the public right-of-way.
Sidewalks (216.664.2474, weekdays 7:30am-4:30pm) The Bureau of Sidewalks assures proper maintenance of the City’s public sidewalks; issues citations, violation notifications, and permits; and administers two sidewalk repair programs.
Engineering Design (216.664.2379, weekdays 8am–5pm): develops, manages, and completes street and bridge capital improvements. It manages pavement, reviews grading and fill permits and lends design support for capital improvement programs. Current programs include designs for Cornell Bridge, Quincy Road, Big Creek, and Euclid Corridor.
Plats and Surveys (216.664.2460, weekdays 8am–5pm): provides survey documents and vital property development information and assigns house numbers. It maintains records of plats and subdivisions and verifies elevations, lines and points with documentation and field work. It also records and replaces "survey monuments"- bronze disks set in rock or permanent structures used as controls for US mapping.
Road and Bridge Capital Improvement (216.664.2381, weekdays 8am–5pm): improves the safety, performance, life-span and aesthetics of the transportation infrastructure through design and construction projects. Its engineers inspect roads and bridges and prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates to recommend Capital Program projects.
The section also coordinates the selection and award of consulting service and construction contracts. It manages engineering consultant firms and construction companies under City contract; ensures that design and construction work comply with Federal, State and local standards; and pursues and coordinates ODOT, County, and private capital improvement projects.
Bridge Maintenance (216.432.6040, weekdays 7am–4pm): improves the safety, performance and aesthetics of the City's bridges through repair projects. It inspects and repairs bridges, and provides routine maintenance on a priority basis as funds allow, especially for the City's six lift bridges.
Bridge Operation: (216.432.6040, weekdays 7am–4pm) provides for the safe and efficient flow of river and vehicular traffic on the Cuyahoga River by the operation of the City's six lift bridges over the Cuyahoga River.
