ACCESS OR EXCESS

Access - noun:

  1. A way to get into or reach a place: The dirt road is the only access to the lake.
  2. The means to get or reach something: You need the password to access the computer.

 

Excess - noun:

  1. An amount that is more than usual or needed: An excess of rain caused the flood.

     

Excess - adjective:

  1. Greater than the amount that is needed or normal: His doctor put him on a diet because of his excess fat.
