AFFECT OR EFFECT

Affect - verb:

  1. To have an influence on; bring about change: The medicine affected him so that he became sleepy.
  2. To touch the feelings of: The sad story had such an affect on me that I cried.
  3. To pretend to feel or have: She affected friendless but I knew she was angry.

Effect - noun:

    1. Something that is brought about by something else; results: One effect of a cold is coughing.
    2. The power to bring about a result; influence: Her anger had no effect on them.

Effect - verb:

    1. To bring about; cause: The invention of the airplane effected many changes in travel.
