LEAN OR LIEN

Lean - adjective:

  1. Having little or no fat: The body builder had a lean body. The steak was very lean and tender.
  2. Not productive or plentiful: The corn harvest was lean this year.

Lean - verb:

  1. To bend or slant away from vertical: He leaned into his skis after the take off from the Ski Jump.
  2. To rest on for support: The doctor showed him how to lean on his crutch for support.
  3. To rely on, as for help; depend: Though it may not be good, she leans heavily on her friends for advice.

Lien - noun:

  1. A legal claim on the property of another for the satisfaction of a debt or fulfillment of a duty: The bank put a lien on his home.
