PAIR OR PARE OR PEAR

Pair - noun:

  1. A set of two like things that are usually used together: A pair of crutches.
  2. One thing that is made of two parts joined together: A pair of reading glasses.
  3. Two persons or animals that are alike or go together: Look at that pair of skaters. I saw a pair of rabbits.

Pair - verb:

    1. To form into sets of two: We paired off to form a line.
    2. To provide a partner for: When you leave the building always go in pairs.

Pare - verb:

    1. To remove the skin or rind of something with a knife or other device: She pared the potatoes for home fries.

Pear - noun:

    1. A sweet, juicy, bell-shaped fruit with smooth yellowish, green or brown skin.
