A Message from Mayor Bibb

As Mayor of Cleveland, I work to create positive change for our great city, to transform public spaces, develop initiatives that support long-term economic revival in our neighborhoods and to champion our city’s many great assets.

With that lens, and with the support of the City Council, several critical investments were established through the final allocation of ARPA dollars including the Transformative Arts Fund. This fund provides an opportunity for artists in partnership with institutions to apply for grants to create public art within the 17 wards of the City of Cleveland.

Through this initiative, we hope to empower and inspire Cleveland’s artist community to ignite meaningful dialogue around Cleveland-centric issues and to explore, amplify and address important community issues that drive transformation using art as a vehicle.

Art has the power to transform neighborhoods; create space for expressions of hope, it supports the vitality and growth of cities and lays a strong foundation for artists, institutions, and communities to come together to find solace in creativity. The City of Cleveland is now seeking applicants for the Transformative Arts Fund. Please review the criteria, eligibility and guidelines, as applications are due March 30, 2024.

Thank you for your dedication to the arts and the City of Cleveland. We eagerly anticipate your participation in this exciting endeavor.

Sincerely,

Mayor Justin M. Bibb
